Simple ways to increase blog comments

What are the simple ways to increase blog comments?

What is the importance of a comment box in a blog? Comment box is one way of knowing who read your article and share thoughts and ideas. It is also a way of informing visitors that your article is worth reading for and has meaning and value. By giving time to respond to comments, your blog appears to be active and visitors will always return back to check for more updated articles.

Comments by visitors abounds in blogs made by professional and successful bloggers because of the quality of the content. Good content can mean the difference between someone clicking onto your site and clicking away a moment later and someone staying for a while and then reading your article from top to bottom. Try to simply read and learn. Spend a week or two clicking around on the Internet and reading the web content on other blogs site. Most visitors are interested on what works for you as a blogger not about what you read or on what you think, that's the secret on how to be a successful blogger. If you can’t write it yourself, you do have other options:

  • Search the public domain. There are millions of articles that are currently in the public domain that you can use on your web site free of charge. A simple web search can bring up hundreds of these kinds of articles. And the best part is you can edit them, change them, alter them or do whatever you want to them so that they sound exactly like you want them to. You don’t have to worry about paying any authors or stepping on any toes. This is an excellent way to go if you don’t want to write content yourself.

  • You can pay companies to write content for you, and in most cases, it’s cheaper than you think. When you consider how important good web content is, paying someone a few dollars to write exactly what you need isn’t such a bad idea. Of course, some companies charge more than others and it always pays to shop around, but don’t shut yourself off to the idea of paying for content. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money and this is one of those cases if you don’t want to write your own web content.

It will be an investment that will pay off time and time again. I am still in the process of studying on how to be an effective blogger though I admit that sometimes the articles that I published are way down below compared to the professional ones.

Normally, when I visit a blog site I go directly to the comment section. For me, blogs that do not have any comment looks too dull and inactive. When I started blogging a year ago, I am hesitant to post comments for the fear of being reported as a spammer. I made several researches before I knew that it is not proper to post your link in the comment box. Other comment box have a text box to place links and that is more safer.

There are several ways on how to get the chances of having someone commenting on your blog. To name a few are the following:

  • Post quality content articles that will catch your readers' interest, as what I have explained on top.
  • Create articles that would suggest your readers to give their own opinions, a controversial post is more attractive for them to leave comments.
  • Write effective tutorial articles that are useful to your readers.
  • Write articles that end with a question, leaving your readers to answer in the comment box.
  • Suggest your friends and peers to visit your blog and to make comments.

A simplest way to increase your blog's activity is to comment on readers comments. That way you are encouraging your visitors or readers to participate as well. Sounds silly? Let us put it this way, if your blog has 5 comments and you comment on each comments, that gave you 10 comments in all giving your blog a lively activity.

Always give positive and constructive comments if possible and observe comment etiquette.

Please share your thoughts and ideas about the simple ways to increase blog comments in the comment box below.

Happy blogging to everyone.
