Mudpack Festival 2013

The Mudpack Festival is held every 3rd week of June at the Mambukal Mountain Resort, Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The festival is dubbed as "The Festival of Arts" and is inspired on the harmony of man and nature and promotes the preservation of our environment. It has been a venue for artists around the province to exhibit their talents through art and ethnic music. Many local and foreign tourists visit and witness the festival despite of the bad weather condition because southwest monsoon normally occurs during the months of May to October.

The highlight of the festival is the merry-making of the dancers, their faces and bodies painted by clay and mudpack.

Here are some colorful pictures taken by my friend Wilfredo Lumagbas Jr., a freelance photographer and a civil engineer by profession, during the Mudpack Festival 2013.

Wilfredo has a good taste in photography with a professional touch. I looked up to him as an artist par excellence.
