How to embed page number starting at page 3

Here is a better way to embed page number starting at any page you want. The title of this article states the page to start at page 3. I am using Microsoft Word 7.

Open your word document. Position your cursor on top of the page you want to start your page number.

The image above shows the current page at page 3 and the cursor is positioned before the first letter of the first paragraph. Now click Page Layout -> Breaks. Refer to the image below.

Then select Continuous from the Breaks drop-down menu.

Select Insert->Page Number from the top options. Refer to the image below.

From the Page Number drop-down menu, select the position of the page numbering.

After selecting the position of your page numbering, you will notice that the page number is set to 3. Refer to the image below.

Now, we will resolve that issue. Double-click the page number. Select Page Number->Format Page Numbers from the menu options.

From the dialogue box that appears, click your mouse at the text box besides Start at option and type-in the number 1, then click OK button. Refer to the image below.
