How Can We Stop Animal Cruelty

We can stop animal cruelty!

Humans have the tendency to treat stray animals with cruelty since we assume we have dominion over them.

The vast majority among these animals are cats or dogs, and their numbers are rapidly expanding as a result of unintentional breeding on the streets and undesired births. Even draft animals, who are used to pull large burdens, are treated cruelly.

Based on the animal cruelty statistics, children who have been sexually assaulted are 5 times more likely to abuse animals.

According to the Philippines Animal Welfare Society, 12 million stray cats and dogs roamed the country in 2019. Thousands of animals are euthanized in pounds each year, or die of sickness, malnutrition, or wounds sustained from fighting.

Thankfully, there are certain things we can do to help homeless animals. Instead of purchasing pricey foreign breeds from pet stores, we should start by adopting abandoned cats and dogs. They struggle to acclimatize not just to the environmental circumstances, but also to their surroundings. Adopting stray animals gives them with a caring home while also limiting their population.

Aside from adoption, animal welfare organizations or homes should be established so that stray animals have a home where they can be properly cared for and fed on a regular basis. As a result, they would not risk their lives by wandering onto busy roadways. To keep the dog population from expanding, stray canines must be neutered if necessary.

In order to prevent innocent animals from becoming victims of unlawful export/import, government rules on animal welfare must be strictly implemented and adhered to.

Despite the fact that today's civilization is contemporary and advanced, individuals continue to ignore animal and pet abuse. They may even condone it in some situations. Animals, like humans, have the right to live a dignified life.

Abuse can take many forms. Sadly, it always has the same effect on animals: fear, suffering, and desperation.

You are very much encouraged to file a complaint regarding any animal abuse where the suspect violates animal welfare law under the amended animal welfare act RA8485.

Please be aware and help stop animal abuse!
