Capitol Lagoon: A Famous Landmark in Bacolod City

Dating back years ago, the Capitol Lagoon is the most visited landmark of Bacolod City, Philippines. You will enjoy strolling around while eating your favorite snacks and foods or take a sit at the benches watching others taking their own time walking, jogging and playing at the park. Joggers and health buffs used to frequent this place early in the morning because of the nice ambiance. You can join a group of people doing exercises dancing to the beat of a music. A lot of people can be seen especially  during weekends strolling around the park, families spending time, friends and groups talking and having their great time at park. Kids and adults enjoy watching the fishes (Tilapia) at the lagoon waiting for some foods to be thrown.

The most noted sculptors are the water buffalo being pulled by a woman located at the northern end of the park and on the other side by a man.The woman and her water buffalo is an artwork of a French sculptor while the man and his water buffalo is made by a Filipino artist.

Another sculptor that you will found at the eastern part of the park is the "Paghimud-os", a Hiligaynon word that means "endeavor". This sculpture is crafted by Eduardo S. Castrillo.
